The EA Process, also known as the Sugarcane Process, uses a natural solvent derived from fermented sugarcane to remove caffeine. The green beans are first exposed to water and steam, which expands their cells, then washed with the ethyl acetate solution, which binds to and draws out the caffeine, removing up to 99.9% of it while preserving the bean's natural sweetness.
