About Finca Liquidambar
Finca Liquidambar, led by Roberto René Gonález, is located in the Montecillo mountain range and has been run by the González-Carillo family for over a century.
Roberto is part of the third generation in his family's coffee story. After a period spent in the city finishing university and working, Roberto returned to the farm with a new perspective; focusing on specialty coffee and finding markets that offered more stability and sustainability. In 2009 Roberto sold 20 bags of a honey process coffee (his first microlot) on the specialty market. Since then the farm has grown steadily, investing in better processing techniques along the way. Today, they produce Honey, Natural, and Anaerobic coffees, combining innovative methods with carefully chosen varieties for top quality. Roberto’s project also brings in and trains young entrepreneurs who want to make their mark in coffee.
