Description

Floral and pleasantly fruity, its aroma is filled with strawberry, wild strawberry, and jasmine. An intriguing, full, comforting flavor with sweetness, juiciness, and sensory harmony. It leans strongly sweet, with peaks of "caramelized" notes. Its balanced taste offers hints of red fruit and the velvety sweetness of vanilla cheesecake. The flavor changes as the coffee cools, revealing hints of yogurt and a pleasant spicy note reminiscent of tonka bean. Its acidity is tartaric, shifting toward lactic. The body is medium-high and viscous. The aftertaste is persistent, leaving notes of spice (tonka bean) and strawberry, like after eating a small tart.

The Sidama Boreta lot comes from the Arbegona district of Ethiopia and is processed by Daye Bensa.
The Dukamo family has built infrastructure to support local coffee producers since 1997.
The coffee is processed at the Boreta wet mill, with cherries hand-sorted and dried on raised beds. The area has few resources, so coffee is often organic by necessity, though not certified. Daye Bensa leads social projects to improve roads, electricity, and agricultural training.
The Sidama region, now officially a state, is known for its ideal climate, altitude, and soils for coffee.
