We invite you to experience the unique flavors and aromas of beautiful Fazenda Matão and learn the story behind them. Marco Antonio Guardabaxo’s farm is located on the plains of the estate, about 800 meters above sea level. Matão means “green thicket,” indicating that the area is a bright green gem in the countryside of Mococa.
A drip irrigation system has been installed to ensure uniform watering of every crop. This system supports the regular development of the cherries while reducing water waste. At Fazenda Matão, they are committed to implementing sustainable practices. The team actively works to prevent soil erosion on the farm and promote diversification of the local flora.
Respect for the community is also a key priority at Matão: the farm’s 40 seasonal workers receive a living wage, have safe working conditions, and collaborate to continually improve the farm’s processes.
