Description

Soto Espresso – washed coffee from Nariño, Colombia

Producer: Soto Coffee, Jesus David Vallejo

Region: Colombia, Nariño, Pasto, La Florida

Variety: Castillo, Caturra

Processing: Washed

Taste: Caramel, roasted cashews, sweet, mango-vanilla, floral

As an espresso, Soto shows its most intense side: a creamy body, plenty of caramel sweetness, and a hint of roasted cashew on the finish. Perfect for espresso machines and super-automatic machines, with a velvety mouthfeel that also holds its own in milk drinks like a flat white or cappuccino.

It was a long wait: This coffee was actually supposed to follow seamlessly after our faithful companion Planadas, but the container took four weeks longer to arrive than expected. The wait was worth it—the coffee has arrived with an even finer structure than we expected from the pre-shipment samples.
