Description

Monsooned Gold – India’s Mellowest Coffee/Espresso

Mild. Low acidity. Unique.
Monsooned Gold is a very special coffee from India’s Malabar Coast—and the mildest coffee in our assortment. With its delicate golden-yellow color and especially smooth, rounded character, it’s ideal for coffee lovers who are sensitive to acidity or looking for an especially gentle cup.

100% Robusta | Origin: Kerala, India
Gently roasted: 30 minutes in small 2 kg batches
Strength: 1 out of 5 – especially mild and easy to digest
Notes: roasted peanuts, dates, almonds

What does “Monsooned” mean?

This rare specialty owes its name and character to an old, traditional process:
In the past, coffee changed during the months-long voyage from India to Europe—its color, aroma, and flavor were shaped by moisture and sea air. This natural “aging” was later deliberately recreated:

  • The beans are exposed to the humid monsoon climate in open warehouses

  • They absorb moisture, swell, and turn straw yellow

  • The result: low acidity, a rounded body, and an especially smooth flavor profile
