Description
Gakundu Coffee Factory is located in Embu County, near Mount Kenya. Sitting at 1,650 metres above sea level, farmers predominantly grow SL28 alongside Ruiru 11 and Batian.
Ripe cherries are carefully sorted, pulped, fermented, washed and dried to 10.5% moisture. The Gakundu Farmers’ Cooperative Society also supports local producers through farm inputs, financial assistance, training and sustainable farming initiatives. In the cup, expect juicy acidity, with tasting notes of blackcurrant and plum jam.
