In the south of Sulawesi lies Mount Rante Karuna, which is an ideal coffee-growing region, not least because it reaches elevations of up to 1,700 meters. In the mid-1980s, the long-forgotten farm, reclaimed by the jungle, was rediscovered and painstakingly rebuilt. The efforts have paid off: besides recovering a bean thought to be lost, part of the farm, along with a school, a hospital, and housing, also serves the local community.
