'Hawaii Kona' coffee is the most famous of all Hawaiian coffees, well-known for its bold yet elegant profile and widely enjoyed flavours of chocolate and spices. The Kona region on the Big Island of Hawaii is home to a superb combination of climatic factors, making for an ideal coffee growing micro-climate, characterized by rich volcanic soil, an ideal elevation of about 300 - 500 meters, and steady, gentle weather.
Greenwell Estate Kona coffee comes from Greenwell Farms in Kealakekua, at the heart of the Kona District, where the family has grown coffee since the 1870s on slopes between about 400 and 800 meters above sea level. Only the very best quality coffee is identified as this Greenwell Estate 'Extra Fancy' Hawaiian Kona.
