Description
La Estancia, managed by Marco Antonio Cadena, represents the fourth generation of a coffee-growing family from Atoyac.
The high quality of its natural coffees is thanks to the hard work and dedication of 15 workers during the harvest season.
Marco promotes environmentally responsible practices and focuses on the social well-being of his employees. In addition to receiving above-average wages, these workers live on the farm during the harvest.
The excellence of the coffee is ensured through ongoing worker training and rigorous monitoring of all processes. The farm also implements ecological practices, such as reusing coffee cherry husks.
Founded in the 1950s, La Estancia evolved from traditional processes to producing specialty coffee in 2018. This change was made possible by Marco's self-directed learning, supported by online video tutorials and guidance from Colombian bioengineer Julian Cucunioame Balcazar of CuBa BIOTEC.
