Bombe is more than a village; it’s a mark of quality. In this highland region of Bensa Woreda, in the heart of the Sidama Zone, you’ll find the Ayla washing station, named after the niece of its founder, Faysel A. Yonis, who has been setting new standards for Ethiopian coffee quality with Testi Coffee for years. 

Ayla sits at 1,950 m and processes the harvests of more than 725 independent smallholder farmers, whose plots are usually less than two hectares in size. Farming is largely organic and diverse, and part of an agroecological system: coffee grows here alongside corn, grain, and bananas, under the natural shade of Birbira, Acacia, and Wanza.
