Important Note on Freshly Roasted Decaf

Decaf coffee beans behave differently after roasting due to the cell structure changes caused by caffeine removal:

• Appearance: Decaf beans start darker and will generally be a darker shade than standard coffees roasted to the same level.

• Oil/Sheen: It is completely normal for freshly roasted decaf coffee to develop a light sheen or spot of oil on the surface within 1-3 days. This does not mean the coffee is stale or over-roasted. This is a natural condition due to the altered moisture content.
