Claro Automatico Blend – coffee that gets along with your machine
An automatic espresso machine makes a simple promise: press a button and get coffee. The problem is that not every coffee holds up its end of the bargain. Beans that are too acidic produce a sharp result, those that are too light leave you with thin crema, and fussy beans require calibration that an automatic machine doesn’t even offer.
Claro Automatico Blend is our answer to that: a blend made especially for automatic machines, delivering good, consistent results without asking anything extra of you. Pour it into the hopper, press the button, and you get exactly what you expect in your cup — velvety body, rich crema, and warm notes of chocolate and caramel.
The blend combines coffees from Brazil, Colombia, and Guatemala — three of the world’s most important coffee-producing countries, each chosen for its contribution: Brazilian body and sweetness, Colombian balance, and Guatemalan structure. Processed with multiple washes, the components offer aromatic clarity and a clean taste, without sharp or astringent notes.
Claro Automatico Blend is freshly roasted in Romania at our artisan roastery, in an omni-roast style. It’s available as whole beans — recommended for machines with built-in grinders — as well as ground to order.
What makes it right for automatic espresso machines:
- High solubility — quick, efficient extraction, exactly what an automatic machine needs
- Consistent results regardless of the machine’s settings
- Pronounced, velvety body with rich crema
- Intense notes of chocolate and caramel
- Low acidity — smooth taste without harshness
- Works just as well for espresso, long coffee, cappuccino, or latte
Why coffee designed for an automatic machine matters
An automatic espresso machine does everything on its own: it grinds, doses, tamps, and extracts. That’s its convenience — and, at the same time, its limitation. Unlike a manual espresso machine, where you can adjust every parameter until you get the perfect extraction, your control over an automatic machine is much more limited.
That means the beans have to do the heavy lifting. Highly soluble coffee releases its flavors quickly, even with a short contact time and a grind that isn’t dialed in to the millimeter. Low-acidity coffee won’t turn sharp if it’s slightly under-extracted. Good body compensates for dilution in long coffee.
That’s exactly what we built Automatico around: not to impress a barista with a scale and timer, but to make good coffee at 7 a.m. from a machine with factory settings.
Specifications:
- Product type: Blend of single-origin coffees
- Composition: Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala
- Processing: Multiple washes
- Primary use: Automatic espresso machines (espresso, long coffee, milk drinks)
- Roast profile: Omni-roast (Claro Cafe)
Aroma and flavor profile
Claro Automatico Blend has a rounded, generous profile built around two dominant notes that complement each other perfectly.
Chocolate provides the base — intense, warm, and familiar. On top of it, caramel adds a natural, lightly toasted sweetness that rounds everything out and leaves a pleasant finish. The acidity is low and subtle, while the pronounced, velvety body creates a full mouthfeel.
The result is a smooth, gently sweet, comforting cup — the kind of coffee that doesn’t ask for special attention, but that you enjoy every time.
Tasting notes:
- Dominant notes: Chocolate, caramel
- Acidity: Low, subtle
- Body: Pronounced, velvety
- Crema: Rich
- Aftertaste: Sweet, clean, without astringency
- Character: Rounded, balanced, comforting
How to use it
This is what the blend was designed for. It works well with the machine’s standard settings, but if you want to fine-tune it:
- Espresso: medium grind setting; if the taste is weak or watery, go one step finer
- Long coffee: its pronounced body stands up well to dilution — it doesn’t turn watery like lighter coffees
- Cappuccino / latte: the chocolate and caramel notes remain clearly present through the milk, often without needing added sugar
We recommend the whole bean version if your machine has a built-in grinder — freshly ground coffee makes a clear difference in crema and aroma.
Manual espresso machine
It also performs well in manual machines, with a classic, chocolate-forward profile. Starting point: 18–20 g dose, 36–40 g in the cup, 25–30 seconds.
Moka pot and cezve
It makes an intense, chocolatey coffee with a full body. These aren’t its natural brewing methods, but the result is solid if you prefer them.
Frequently asked questions about Claro Automatico Blend
How long does it stay fresh after roasting, and how should I store it?
Freshly roasted coffee is at its best within the first 30–60 days after roasting. Keep it in its original bag with a degassing valve, sealed tightly, at room temperature, away from light, heat, and moisture. Avoid the refrigerator. Don’t keep more coffee in the machine’s hopper than you’ll use in a week — beans exposed to air lose their aromas.
What’s the difference between this and Claro Espresso Blend?
Both are chocolate-forward blends with low acidity, but they’re designed for different uses. Espresso Blend is made for classic espresso, emphasizing dense crema and a chocolate profile — it also works very well in manual machines, where you control the extraction. Automatico is optimized for automatic machines: higher solubility, body that holds up in long coffee, and a caramel note that complements the chocolate. If you use an automatic espresso machine, Automatico is the clear choice.
Whole bean or ground for an automatic espresso machine?
Whole bean, if your machine has a built-in grinder — coffee ground as you brew produces visibly better crema and clearer aromas. The ground version is useful only if your machine doesn’t have a grinder or if you use the pre-ground coffee compartment. When ordering, specify the brewing method so it can be ground to the right size.
Does it also work well for long coffee (Americano, lungo)?
Yes, and that’s one of its advantages. Its pronounced body stands up well to the larger amount of water, so you don’t get watery, flat coffee like you might with lighter blends. The chocolate and caramel notes remain present in a long cup, too.
Why choose a blend instead of a single-origin coffee for an automatic machine?
You can also use a single-origin coffee — Brazil Santos, for example, works very well in an automatic machine. The difference is that this blend is deliberately built for this situation: its components are selected to compensate for the automatic machine’s limitations (limited control over grind and extraction). A single-origin coffee, in turn, gives you the distinctive character of a particular place. It’s a choice between maximum reliability and exploration.
Is it suitable for an office where several people will use it?
Yes, it’s one of the best choices for that. Its approachable profile, without extreme notes or pronounced acidity, appeals to almost everyone, and consistent results mean no one needs to know how to adjust the settings. The 1,000 g bag is practical for high-volume use.

Why choose Claro Automatico Blend
An automatic espresso machine is an investment in convenience. It makes sense for the coffee you put in it to work toward the same goal.
At Claro Cafe, we freshly roast this blend in Romania in an omni-roast style and immediately package it in bags with degassing valves to preserve freshness. The three origins in the blend — Brazil, Colombia, and Guatemala — are chosen to provide what an automatic machine needs: solubility, body, sweetness, and no surprises.
The result is freshly roasted, traceable coffee that performs just as well at 7 a.m. as it does during an office break. Press the button, and that’s it.
