Bukonzo Joint Cooperative Micro Finance Society Ltd. (Bukonzo Joint) is owned by its members—85% of whom are women—who currently cultivate 3,400 small farms in the Rwenzori Mountains region of western Uganda. Here, they grow high-quality, organically cultivated coffee that is harvested by hand. The cooperative is chaired by a woman named Ithungu Polonia. The Bukonzo Cooperative is strongly committed to preventing domestic violence. The cooperative works closely with its members and community leaders to raise awareness of relevant laws and combat domestic violence and its causes. The coffee is certified organic and Fairtrade.

This wonderful coffee grows in western Uganda at altitudes of 1,400–2,200 m, in the shade of lemon and olive trees. A washed coffee that is organically grown and fairly traded.

Character (medium-bodied)

This variety impresses with its full flavor and rich body. Sweet chocolate notes round out the finish.
