Description

By Maxwell Dashwood

Enter the world of specialty coffee with Maxwell Dashwood’s “The Business of Specialty Coffee.” Beyond the sips and aromas, this book delves into the business side of coffee.

Organized into eight comprehensive parts, the book begins with an overview of the specialty coffee industry, moves on to the fundamentals of business, covers market forces, values, branding, marketing, and strategies, and concludes with Dashwood’s thoughts on the future of this ever-evolving market.

Taking a journalistic approach, Dashwood doesn’t prescribe a single business model, but offers a panoramic view of the industry, providing readers with the tools, information, and understanding they need to carve out a niche.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur considering entering the coffee industry, an established professional, or simply a coffee enthusiast, this book promises a rich blend of information and inspiration.

About the author:

Maxwell Dashwood’s fascination with coffee began in Melbourne, Australia, in 2007. After returning to the UK, he co-led a coffee events company and opened Colonna & Small’s, a café based in Bath that focuses on carefully curated, changing coffee menus.

An acclaimed figure in the industry, Maxwell has won the UK Barista Championship three times and co-written academic papers on coffee. He is also the co-author of “Water For Coffee,” a study of water’s impact on coffee flavor, and “The Coffee Dictionary,” an accessible guide to coffee terminology. His most recent book, “The Business of Specialty Coffee,” combines his business experience with an exploration of the coffee supply chain.
