Description

PHOTOS | COLOR | IMAGINATION. That’s the name of a project by Karlsruhe-based professional photographer Klaus Eppele and Waldbronn painter Günter Weiler.

In this project, two artists from different genres work together with the goal of creating something new using photographic and painting techniques. Photography per se does not claim to “be art”; it is more a depiction of reality, combined with the option of infinite reproduction. By contrast, the very same photograph immediately loses its reproducibility through artistic intervention and treatment with artists’ paints and techniques, and then stands alone as a true one-of-a-kind piece.

Photographic realities recede into the background because the aesthetics of overpainting elevate the photo to a different emotional level. The impression of the image, and especially the viewers’ emotional response, create a new dimension of perception. Ideally, the photographic subject—the photographic background of the work—and the colors merge into painting or contrast with it, opening or revealing an intimate space. Suddenly, you recognize two realities: the human eye immediately searches for what the photograph captured, yet succumbs to the richness of the visual and interpretive impressions of the painting, which viewers do not always find, for example, in classical painting, even in abstract works.

THE COFFEE

A blend of selected premium coffees. Coffea Arabica from Brazil meets a bold Coffea Canephora from India.

Chocolatey. Creamy. Bold.

This coffee is wonderfully chocolatey and creamy. The flavors of marzipan and almond provide a pleasant sweetness that pairs perfectly with nougat. An intense cocoa note adds deep chocolate flavor to the coffee.

The creamy texture makes the flavor experience especially smooth and full-bodied.

Our distinctive Herzogkaffee roast level

The suggested preparation methods are our recommendations. For each preparation method, we grind the coffee to a different grind size. If you would like whole beans, please select “whole beans” above.
