Without a doubt, this coffee maker is one of the most spectacular and fascinating methods of coffee extraction. Invented in 1800, the Siphon has made a comeback in recent years thanks to the specialty coffee shops of the ” third wave “, becoming a real cult object for coffee lovers from all over the world.

This version called  Technica TCA, 2 or 3 cup model, is very elegant and perfect for enchanting your customers in the cafeteria. Not only that, even to amaze your guests at the end of a dinner by preparing them with a “magic” delicious coffee.

The Siphon is composed of an alcohol stove, two glass elements that are hermetically joined thanks to a rubber gasket, and a metal filter, equipped with a Venturi valve that allows the water to rise in the upper part without reaching the temperature of boiling.

How does the extraction of coffee with the Siphon work?

• insert the right amount of hot water into the lower globe and turn on the stove
• apply the top element to which we hooked our filter
• as soon as the water has risen, we will pour our dose of coffee, mixing well to create turbulence and prevent the temperature from rising until the coffee burns
• at the end of the infusion, the heat source is removed and by decompression, the drink will descend into the lower globe ready to be tasted.

What coffee do you get?

Surely it depends a lot on the type of filtering we use, but in principle, the Siphon gives us a cup with a greater body than that of a V60, but without the possible sediments that can be present with a French Press.

It is very important to wash the cloth filter included in the package after each use.
