Description
We’ve purchased coffee from the San Pedrana Cooperative for four years now, and each year it get’s better. Through hard work and diligent farming and processing practices, the farmers in the Yepocapa region continue to produce cleaner, sweeter, tastier coffees than before. More than just producing fantastic coffees though, the San Pedrana Cooperative and the farmers in Yepocapa have a special place in our heart. Each year we make the trek (more like long van ride from Guat City) to the small farming community by Volcan de Fuego and bring baristas, roasters, and other shop owners to continue investing in long lasting relationships while sharing mutually beneficial knowledge. It’s our favorite time of the year!
The first time we met Don Evaristo Charuc in 2018, we were stoked by a few things: the stunning beauty of his high elevation farm, his apiario (bee hives), his personal geisha shrub for his own coffee drinking, and his ninja fruit picking skills. This year, we were once again blown away by how freakin tasty this coffee is. Clean clean clean. Big brown sugar/date sweetness mellows out with the perfect delicate citrus acidity, flashing overt orange blossom notes to finish. It’s so balanced and oh so session-able.
