Safer and faster payments

Starting with January 1, 2021, online payment is authorized simpler and more secure, through biometrics.

Authenticate online transactions using your banking application, using one of the following methods:

  • Password
  • Footprint
  • Facial recognition

If you do not have the banking application installed, you can now download it from the Apple Store (IOS) or Google Store (Android), to authenticate payments quickly.

To further simplify online payment, we advise you to save your bank card details directly from your Cafendo customer account, My Cards section.

If internet access is limited, don't worry. You can still authorize payments through two-factor authentication:

Dynamic password received by SMS and static password indicated by the bank initially (except in the situation where you have already changed it).

How do you pay online? It's simple!

You have the card saved in your Cafendo account: select the card from the available payment methods and press the Send order button. Payment is made automatically.

You have a card that you have not yet saved in your Cafendo account: select the payment method Credit or debit card, the New card option, click the Send order button, fill in your card details in the new Adyen window and click the Pay button.

Some payments may not require authorization, depending on the specifics of the transaction.

The transaction will be confirmed by email, at the address associated with your Cafendo account. If payment is not authorized, you will receive a retry message. If you choose to save the card, in the next order you will be able to select it without having to enter all the data.

Accepted cards are those issued under the logos VISA (Classic and Electron) and MASTERCARD (including Maestro if they have CVV2 / CVC2 code).

0% COMMISSION!

There is no additional commission for transactions. To guarantee the security of transactions, Cafendo uses the Adyen platform.

If the card is associated with an account in a currency other than EUR, the transactions are made in lei, at the exchange rate of the issuing bank for the respective card.

Card data processing is done exclusively through Adyen. Cafendo does not request or store details about your card.

If you have canceled the order, the money will be transferred to you within a maximum of 30 minutes from the confirmation of the cancellation. For orders canceled on the same day as payment, the refund will be initiated the next day.

PayPal

Depending on the currency you're paying with, PayPal may be available as a payment method. If PayPal is available, you'll be able to select it on the checkout page. If you don’t see PayPal as an option, you’ll need to either switch to an eligible currency or select a different payment method.

Once you select PayPal as your payment method, a new browser window will pop up and you’ll be taken to the login screen on the PayPal site:

  1. Log in to your PayPal Account
  2. Choose one of your linked payment methods (ex: a credit card or bank account) under Choose a way to pay
  3. Click Continue
  4. Confirm the payment method, read PayPal’s policies, then click Agree & Continue

You’ll be taken back to Airbnb’s checkout page where you can confirm and pay for your Airbnb reservation.

Once the payment for the full amount of the reservation is authorized by PayPal, your reservation request will be sent (or your Instant Book reservation will be confirmed). You'll only be charged once your reservation is confirmed. If your reservation request is canceled, declined, or expires, the PayPal authorization will be voided and you won't be charged.

You may need to link a bank account or credit card to your PayPal account to complete your Airbnb reservation. This alternate payment source will only be used if your primary method doesn’t go through. The PayPal website has more information about selecting a preferred payment method.

How can I use my bank account to pay through PayPal?

Money can be securely transferred from your bank account to Airbnb using PayPal Instant Transfer.

To use PayPal Instant Transfer, you’ll need to go to your PayPal account and set it up as follows:

  • Link your bank account as a funding source to your PayPal account. Note that this process can take up to 1-2 days. The PayPal website has more details about how to link a bank account to your PayPal account.
  • Add a backup payment method (such as a credit card) to your PayPal account. PayPal will only use your backup payment method if your Instant Transfer doesn’t go through.

Once PayPal is set up with your linked bank account and backup payment method, you’ll be able to use Instant Transfer to pay on Airbnb. Follow the steps above and choose your bank account as the funding source when you’re asked to Choose a way to pay on the PayPal site.
