Description
Cascara is the dried skin of the coffee cherry that brews a fruity, caffeinated, slightly sweet beverage. This lot has a nose of cherry pie and sweet notes of baked apple, cinnamon, currants, lemonade, and hibiscus.
Brewed hot, it makes a delightful diversion from the usual coffee, and cold, it’s very refreshing! We recommend the following recipe:
Pour 200 mL of hot water (211°F) over 20 grams of cascara (or 9 fl. oz. of hot water to 1 oz of tea). Let steep for at least 5 minutes. Strain. If you would like to enjoy it cold, use 1/3 less water in the brew and pour over ice!
