Description
This coffee is named after Madre Laura, the first Colombian person to officially become a “Saint.” She is notably recognized for striving to eliminate existing racial discrimination in Colombia. Much of her work was in the town of Jericó, where this coffee is produced. We have been sourcing coffee and traveling to Jericó since 2016. One of our very first giveback missions with VGF was redirecting a portion of our sales from their coffee to providing medical & dental check ups for a local school that many of the coffee farmers children attend. Jericó is a quaint & beautiful mountain town bursting with vibrancy and the coffees that grow here have been thriving for years in its beautiful climate and high elevation. The community, assisted by our export partner Campesino Coffee, aims to bring us a world class Colombian coffee uniquely their own and transparent back to the producers that grew it. The cup profile is classic in many senses, with notes of chocolate, a hint of orange, and a medium vibrant body. This coffee is roasted medium to highlight the toastiness & accentuate the fruity layers found within each sip. This year a portion of our sales will be redirected back to the school started by our partner Campesino coffee, which offers continuing education to the coffee farmers & their families.
