Since the beginning of the company in 1958, Cafés Ibiza has always had the invaluable help of its staff, who, with the desire to do things well and to provide caring customer service, created the germ of the current company. To this day, this principle and the commitment to continuously improve the organization continue to predominate. 

History

The young Vicente Tur, like many other Ibizan entrepreneurs, decided to emigrate and undertook an adventure and a trip that took him to Venezuela where he lived for two years, and he learned to love coffee and savor everything that this trade teaches. Vicente, when he returned home, with his savings he acquired, together with some partners, a small coffee roaster. It was the year 1958 and fortunately, in the islands the tourism sector was emerging, which brought with it economic development and the possibility of companies growing. At that time we roasted coffee in a cave in the Barrio de la Marina (neighborhood where the people of the sea lived). At this time, the government-controlled green coffee imports. The coffee roasters only had access to a quota of green coffee bags and the demand for coffee was usually insufficient, and it was expensive and of poor quality. To solve these problems of insufficient green coffee, Vicente had to buy bags of smuggled coffee. I was looking for a ship that would carry merchandise and that would sail near the coast of Ibiza. Deliveries were made at night, at Ses Salines Beach, or at Es Codolar. From Ibiza, and with barges, they approached the merchant ships and there they made the purchase and sale. When they had the coffee on the barge, they had to row back to shore, hiding the coffee bags until the appropriate moment to collect them.

Since its inception and until now, Cafés Ibiza has not stopped working, growing, investing, and serving the people of Ibiza. We feel very loved by the population of these islands, who have Cafés Ibiza as a product that they take in their day today. We also feel loved and supported outside of our islands and we have more and more contacts in other countries.
