Swedish coffee with egg

Coffee Recipes

Swedish coffee with egg is a typical Swedish coffee recipe that is easy to make. The result is a non-bitter, surprisingly light, and very smooth cup that combines your favorite roast coffee’s lovely taste with a toasted cheese aftertaste (it may sound strange, but it is worth trying).

To make this exciting and delicious mixture, you will need the following:

  • 1 piece of fresh egg
  • 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons of your favorite coffee, coarsely ground
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup ice cold water
  • Sugar and milk to taste
  • Pot

All this together makes one portion of coffee multiplied by the number of cups you want to make.

Preparation method

1. Boil the water

Start by boiling the first cup of water in a pot.

2. Break the egg and stir.

While boiling, crack the egg into a cup (including the shell) and stir a little.

3. Add the ground coffee.

Place the ground coffee in the cup with the egg and stir again.

4. Add the coffee-egg mixture to the boiling water.

Add the coffee and egg to the boiling water once you have mixed the coffee and egg well.

5. Boil for five minutes.

Let the mixture boil for 5 minutes, careful not to overflow (because it will want to).

6. Remove from heat and add cold water.

After boiling the water, remove the mix from the heat and add the cup of ice-cold water; this will cause the egg and coffee residue to sink to the bottom of the pot so you can quickly pour off the coffee and leave most of the residue in the pot.

7. Filter and serve

Pour the liquid through a French press or use a fine sieve to ensure you only get coffee. Enjoy!
