Description

We have another new coffee that we are adding to our extensive range of coffees from around the world and this is an exceptional lot from Honduras. It has notes of red apple, shortbread, and a lingering creaminess that has to be tried.

A Honduran legend says that Comayagua is the birthplace of coffee in Honduras. The area would be well-suited for it: high altitude, fertile soil, and a humid tropical climate. But this climate is also a challenge when it comes to processing the cherries, as the high rainfalls make it difficult to dry the beans properly.

Coffee is one of the most important economic activities of Comayagua and the main driver of its economic development. Small producers scatter the landscape, and while Comayagua is not the densest area of coffee trees, the producers have some of the most productive farms in the country.

Denis Delcid has been cultivating coffee for more than half of his life. The 36-year-old producer started 18 years ago with his father, on a 2-hectare piece of land. Today, Denis owns a ten-hectare farm, El Pichingo, located in El Resumediro, and cultivates four hectares with coffee.
