Description
This is our first Costa Rican coffee that we are introducing to No13 and we cannot wait for you to try it. This lovely mountain-grown Costa Rica is a classic representation of its region: sweet high toned with gentle, round acidity and notes of golden syrup, dates caramel, and wafer biscuit
On the western slopes of the Cordillera de Talamanca, Pérez Zeledón is one of the southern most coffee producing region of Costa Rica. Home of the highest mountain peak in the country, Cerro
Chirripo, Pérez Zeledón benefits from high altitude, fertile soil as well as rich biodiversity. Coffee was introduced in Pérez Zeledón around the end of the 19th century by settlers from the Central Valley. Coffee has driven the economic and social development of the area generating a culture of values and principles built on the family union. While the average farm size is about 3 hectares, many coffee producers do not operate their own washing station but deliver their ripe cherries to a Beneficio – a wet mill in Costa Rica.
