Chosen by our importer for its ability to express flavors after decaffeination, this Ethiopian Guji offers a wonderfully complex cup with notes of caramel and graham cracker on the front end, followed by apricot jam and a blackberry acidity upon cooling.
Royal’s Select Water Processing is a chemical-free decaffeination method in which the green coffee is pre-soaked in water before being introduced to a solution of concentrated coffee solubles that draw out the caffeine without leaving an undesirable bitterness that many other decaffeination processes do. After the soak the green coffee is re-dried and packaged for shipment, while the soluble solution is recycled to be used again.
