The East African country of Ethiopia is considered the original home of coffee. The plant was discovered here in the 9th century. Even today, the red coffee cherries in the jungle are mainly harvested from coffee bushes that were grown from wild seedlings. Some slopes in the fertile areas of the Sidamo district in the south of the country deliver exceptionally fine quality. The interplay of fertile soil, altitude and climate produces top qualities that make the hearts of coffee lovers around the world beat faster.
