    It's strange, as I didn't drink coffee until I was 25.  Even then, I didn't like it, I drank it to be social, and it all tasted like bitter rubbish-nothing a fistful of sugar couldn't fix. Then one day, I came across a cafe selling specialty coffee, and I've never looked back.  I still don't like most coffee, but I love great coffee!

    This was the beginning of our journey: the quest for great coffee.  It's taken us to several continents and into some hairy situations:  Learning the art of espresso in Italy; trudging through the highlands of PNG; getting chased by guerillas in the Congo; unbelievable shots in Ecuador and Colombia; the science of service in Texas and finally roasting in Australia working with Equilibrium, Wolff, Rob Hoos and Scott Rao.

    The more you look into the complexity of coffee, the deeper the hole goes.  It has to be among the most frustrating and rewarding products on the planet. 

    Our journey has led us to the wonderful world of coffee roasting and the creation of Ransom Coffee.  Each bean we hand pack holds the DNA of our adventures and thirst for knowledge which shows vividly in the cup.  We know you'll enjoy our coffee as much as we have enjoyed getting it to you.
