Description

THE COFFEE IS MEDIUM-BODIED AND SWEET WITH A CLEAN AND CRISP FINISH.

This coffee is produced in the highlands of Chiapas along the border of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve. The reserve is the largest of its kind in all of Mesoamerica and serves as a refuge for thousands of species of plants and animals. The coffee is shade-grown, and all agronomic input is used with long-term sustainability in mind.

INGREDIENTS: 100% Arabica Coffee Beans

The co-op responsible for production in the area is Campesinos Ecologicos de la Sierra Madre de Chiapas (CESMACH). The co-op has a little over 600 members, over 200 of which are women. These 200 women producers represent 32 separate communities in close proximity to the reserve. This particular lot is produced by 18 separate women producers, hence the “Café de Mujer” designation. The coffee is fully washed and then sun-dried for 8-12 days.
