    We are small batch craft roasters of 100% Arabica coffee beans sourced responsibly from around the world. We roast, grind, and bag all of our coffee in house at our facility in Dover, NH. You can find our coffee in the area's best restaurants, specialty stores, online and at our factory outlet.

    The Barretto Family

    At the start of 2020 the Barretto Family took over operations at NH Coffee. The Barrettos grew up in Dover and still have close ties to the community. Nick Barretto (right) started at NH Coffee in 2015 and has worked in all areas of the operation. When the opportunity came to purchase it from the Coneys, he and his brother, Chris (left), were honored to continue the successful family business Michael Kirk and the Coneys established.

    In 1989 the late Michael Kirk (1958-1997) started Piscataqua Coffee Roasters in his barn in Eliot, ME.  He started the business with a used Diedrich IR-12 believed to be one of the very first Diedrich roasters ever produced.  Mike was an “obsessive gourmet” and coffee had become his passion. Nothing upset Mike more than a stale or poorly prepared cup of coffee especially at the conclusion of a fine meal. He took it upon himself to create great coffees for every type of consumer to enjoy coffee the way it was meant to be.

    As the business grew and as Mike’s health started to fail, he partnered with his brother Bill Coneys to continue the dream. Bill and his wife, Melissa, grew the business after moving the roasting facility to the current location in Dover, NH and changing the name to NH Coffee Roasting Co. The Coneys ran the business together from 1996 until Bill's untimely passing in 2019. We have created Mike's Blend and Bill's Blend in their honor, using beans they loved.
