We are a specialty coffee roastery with an espresso and brew bar in Nuremberg, Gostenhof. 
We have been enthusiastic pioneers for premium coffees since 2008. Our focus is on green coffee - our drum roasters only produce seasonal harvests of the highest quality, 100% traceable. We preserve the character of the coffee and emphasize its unique taste properties through gentle, light roasting.
Machhörndl Kaffee started out in 2008 as a small 2-man coffee roastery. Namesake Armin fulfilled the dream of pursuing his passion for specialty coffees. Armin is a two-time German Brewers Cup champion and a coffee roaster with all his heart.
In contrast to many other roasting houses or cafés, Machhörndl is not about the one coffee that always tastes the same. It's about diversity and complexity. The constant search for great coffees from all over the world.
The cultivation conditions, varieties, and processing methods play an important role. In order to preserve the quality and the full taste potential of these coffees, they are gently and lightly roasted in the drum roaster. This quality claim automatically brings sustainability and fairness with it, even without various seals and certificates.
The initially small roastery has now grown to a team of 15 employees. The 5 kg Probat drum roaster from the early days has been replaced by a 25 kg Probat drum roaster.
In 2014 a café was added in downtown Nuremberg.
