Description
The typical feature of this Grand Cru coffee is a large body with fine acidity and intense notes of chocolate, caramel and pecan nuts. The small Arabica beans are produced by the smallholder cooperative LAMPOCOY in rural Guatemala.
The coffee for our Craft Coffee LAS TRES HERMANAS is traded directly. The farmers get a price that is quickly twice as high as that of the world market. The direct sales channel makes it possible to flow further tasks in school education and the health care of the farmers.
In 2013, the Lampocoy Grand Cru received the European Prize. Roaster Association SCAE
project idea
With the support of the cooperative and the higher income, it is possible to expand schools and health stations as well as infrastructure and know-how. This also benefits the coffee quality
direct support
The village and the cooperative have received material assets and infrastructure measures to improve school education, health and the quality of the coffee. The coffee processing plant could be renovated. A drum roaster was donated and the cooperative can now sell roasted coffee locally and thus generate additional value.
