Lakota Coffee Company was started by Skip DuCharme in 1992. After discovering the world of coffee roasting in Austin, TX, Skip created Lakota Coffee Company & Roasters. Our name, derived from the Teton Sioux, means ‘friendly people’, and represents our commitment to providing hospitality and great tasting coffee to everyone who comes through our doors.
Since we opened, we have been committed to supporting our community. We donate to many mid-Missouri based charities and organizations and numerous Native American organizations.
The following is our current list of Native American organizations that we are supporting this year: Oglala Lakota Nation, Pine Ridge Reservation, Wounded Knee District School, St. Joseph’s Indian School, Trees, Water & People, and Cheyenne River Women’s Outreach.

Our dedication to fresh coffee is unmatched. We hand roast small batches of our coffee beans daily to provide you with the freshest tasting coffee around. Our fresh roasted coffee is known in Columbia for being roasted and brewed with care. From a pour over to our beloved coffee shakes, you’ll taste the Lakota difference when you buy our coffee. All of our coffee is single-origin, meaning it is sourced from a single region or country. This gives our coffee its deep body and variety of notes depending on which region it is from. At Lakota, we want to inspire you to be just as passionate about coffee as we are, so we’re always happy to answer any questions about your coffee’s origin.
