About 100 years ago, our great grandfather, Macario Angel, decided to grow coffee in the highest mountains of Chiapas. His passion for the "black juice" led our grandfather, Efrain Angel, and our father, Oswaldo Angel, “The Angel Family," to follow in his footsteps, first as direct coffee growers, and thanks to their expertise, knowledge, and the legacy they received, we started with the selection of the best coffee beans not only from one specific region but from the best coffee producing regions of Mexico.
Mexico is famous for the richness in its soils, which gives its people the advantage of being able to grow multiple varieties of coffee beans with different balances, flavors, and aromas to please all kinds of palates. We grew up with coffee, among coffee bags, coffee smells, and coffee beans. We love what we do and we know coffee, it is in our heart and soul.
Sometime around 2001, we decided we wanted to go further and to be able to work with growers around Mexico, only the best quality, which in many cases does not come from the bigger farms but from small producers and with a lot of effort from the whole family and a hard-working team, we opened our first roasting business in Mexico City and began to develop new blends, try new varieties from different regions, cupping with professional coffee tasters, attending as vendors at different coffee fairs and innovating the market with our quality products and services.
La Floresta ® Café is born from the taste and passion of cultivating, roasting, and tasting coffee. We are a family that for three generations has been working hard to promote Mexican coffee around the world, and we are excited about the opportunity to share this passion with our customers. We are experts on the coffee manufacturing process and have been devoting all our efforts for the past 17 years designing new blends, sourcing the best coffee beans in Mexico and building strong relationships with the coffee community, from the producers to the customers.
