Description

The Irmas Pereira brings big fruity notes and a delightful liqueur-like sweetness to the cupping table. Slightly boozy, but not in your face. It’s evident the effort that goes into producing this coffee by the refined structure and clarity.

Maria Valeria and Maria Rogeria were born into the coffee business. In the early 1970s, Antonio and Maria Pereira purchased 90 acres of fertile land in Carmo de Minas with a dream to grow and harvest the best coffee. Their daughters helped on the farm from an early age, learning to harvest and refining their processing techniques. Once they were married, their husbands joined the cause and strengthened the family unit. Sadly, Antonio passed away, but the sisters’ drive to succeed remained. Renaming the farm Irmas Pereira (Pereira sisters), they continue to innovate, producing cutting edge, experimental coffees, each year staying ahead of the curve.

“Our greatest pride is our union as sisters, and our greatest challenge is keeping our pioneering spirit up to date. This is what makes our coffee stand out. If we keep a step ahead of the changing market, we’ll always be in a strong position.”
Maria Rogeria, Irmas Pereira

We love the Pereira sisters’ approach to coffee. Top-quality varieties produced with cutting edge techniques and, above all, a passion for delivering quality to an ever-changing market. Their meticulous processing methods allow us to showcase their coffee for longer. The use of African raised beds, allowing the coffee to dry slowly & evenly, is key to a stable product with good shelf life. They understand what roasters need in a coffee to shine the best possible light on their hard work and dedication. It’s a win-win situation and a relationship we want to preserve. Expect to see more from the Pereira Sisters on our menu in the future.
