Description

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, 1000km off the coast of Ecuador lies the Galapagos Archipelago, from which one of the rarest and most extraordinary coffees in the world comes.

In 1879 the first coffee plants were planted on the main island of San Christobal, they came from the French colonies. Even today, after more than 140 years, these plants still bear fruit.

The cold Humboldt current creates a moderately humid climate that is optimal for the coffee plants.

The plants grow under shady trees (avocados, guavas and oranges) on fertile volcanic soil and are only fertilized organically. Any use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides is strictly forbidden in the unique wildlife sanctuary of the Galapagos Islands.
