Description

Silky smooth and incredible sweet, this offering from Halo Hartume has us excited to dive into 2022. Opening with boysenberry syrup and rolling into perfectly ripe stone fruit, this coffee presents an incredible clean profile. Washed Ethiopians are bright, dynamic, with tones of nuance, and we recommend them for someone familiar with the lighter specialty coffee profile.

Halo Hartume is the second washing station opened by Mijane Worassu in the Gedeo Zone of Yirgacheffe, and the extended Worassu family has run washing stations in Gedeo for decades. With each new station they are able to further their mission of offering coffees from smaller specific regions of their community. Halo Hartume purchases cherries from 396 smallholder producers surrounding the washing station, many of whom previously had to travel much further to sell their crop. Having more localized accessible washing stations for producers to sell to prevents the terroir from being diluted by a wider region, and you truly get to appreciate the flavors of where the coffee comes from.
