Description

CUBA SANTIAGO GROUND COFFEE

Old-fashioned roasted coffee, full-bodied, long in the mouth, finely tangy with notes of dried fruit.

The Franco-Cuban coffee growers, who settled in the Cuban Orient from the 19th century, contributed to the development of the region. The old farms were declared World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2000, their ruins show the Golden Age of coffee growing which still produces one of the best coffees in the world.

Co-funded by the European Union, the Oficina del Conservador de la Ciudad de Santiago de Cuba and the Malongo Foundation, Los Caminos del Café is implementing an exciting program of responsible tourism, including the restoration of an old mansion in the heart history of the city of Santiago (the Casa Dranguet) and the rehabilitation of old cafetales in the surrounding countryside, including the famous Fraternidad.
