COLOMBIA – TOLIMA – Tinker Coffee

The department of Tolima is located in west-central Colombia, situated between the Cordillera Central and Cordillera Oriental in the Colombian Andes. Between these two ranges lies the Magdalena Valley, a wide plain with fertile soil fed by the Magdalena and Saldaña rivers.

This particular coffee comes to us from the ASPRASAR Cooperative, a relative newcomer in the speciality coffee scene in Tolima. Established in 2016 with 100 member-producers, the co-op was founded on the principle of improving the lives of its members by increasing the coffee quality (and ultimately the price) of the coffees grown in the region.

Participating members grow their coffee at elevations between 1500-2100 MASL, resulting in coffees with honey-like sweetness, subtle nuttiness, and a touch of stone fruit. Supremely balanced and consistent, this coffee shines across all brew methods but is especially tasty in both drip and French press preparations.
