    In 1947, George Agathiadis, Mr. Agga, settled on the plantations of Sangmelima 500 km from Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, in West Africa.

    Philippe, his eldest son, discovers little by little the cogs and the harshness of the trade on the volcanic lands of Cameroon where he studies the various methods of planting and harvesting.

    In the African bush, he set up and prospered several coffee processing factories on behalf of European multinationals.

    A specialist in the coffee exchange, he works in more than 25 coffee-producing countries, including Brazil, Burundi, Kenya, Peru, Rwanda, and Zaire.

    In 1987, he was appointed coffee quality arbitrator by the Chambre arbitrale des cafés de Paris, a title recognized worldwide by all coffee-producing countries. This title definitely establishes him as a first-class connoisseur.

    In 1987, Café AGGA was founded in Quebec.
