History of Arabicaffè Italian company for coffee roasting. The company was born in 1953 as the result of the promising idea of three friends, Dr. Francesco Bonaccorsi, Dr. Vincenzo Musumeci, and Mr. Santo Longo, to create a high-quality product to be included in the Sicilian market, to meet the demands of growing demand from the Bar and Restaurant sector.

Since then, supported by the fervor of the children of the three founding partners in respect of the original family and entrepreneurial values, that original intuition has been transformed into today's reality of Arabicaffè, a dynamic and constantly expanding company that produces, processes, and markets its large-scale products, guaranteeing the presence of its brand in Italy (Sicily, Calabria, Piedmont) and internationally (Holland, England, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Belgium, Russia, United States, Canada, China).

    Our mission

Our Mission is fulfilled in perfectly matching the desire for coffee of the most demanding palates with a product that, while maintaining the traditional qualitative characteristics, looks to the future with constant attention. And it is in fact with a view to continuous development and expansion of the company's core business that the introduction of the packaging of coffee in single-dose pods in a controlled atmosphere must be seen (to guarantee a fresh coffee such as espresso and hygienically safe) and the use of nitrogen in all packs.

    Our values

The fundamental and indispensable values that distinguish us are our History, made of passion and courage, our Tradition, which we proudly display on our evolutionary path, Quality, an exact expression of the originality and purity of our products. We strongly believe in the values of entrepreneurship, reflecting them in our way of being and operating, aimed at creating value for us and for those who work with us, in full respect of the environmental and social context in which we live.

    Our commitment to ecology

We are a manufacturing company sensitive to the ecology theme. For this reason, our production has been completely supported by the electricity from our photovoltaic panels for some time. Every 6 months we check the systems and we manage to keep emissions into the atmosphere well below the permitted threshold. Waste disposal is guaranteed by an internal company procedure that allows accurate and efficient waste control and differentiation. We use compostable filter paper for the pods, paper cups, and bamboo stirrers; our current commitment is the study aimed at the most complete recyclability of our packaging and the packaging of our products in order to minimize the impact on the whole system.

    The production process

The production process begins with the careful selection of green coffees of the best Arabica and Robusta qualities, selected and collected directly from the countries of origin - Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, India, Cameroon, Congo - and then made to pass through the city of Trieste to obtain quality assurance certification from recognized organizations and companies. In compliance with today's health and hygiene regulations, green coffee - packed in jute bags of 60 kg each (with the exception of the Columbia quality which is packaged in bags of 70 kg each) - loaded on special railway wagons reaches our couriers who, in full compliance with the agreements stipulated to guarantee the safety of the goods, they transport and deliver them directly to our factory in Catania.

Unloaded from the trucks, the green coffee is checked immediately, selected from its best beans, and sent directly to our roasting machine (with a capacity of 240 kg) where it is roasted (for each origin in order to guarantee the originality of the product!) To a temperature of about 200/210 C ° for 20 minutes (roasting time and temperature vary in relation to the harvesting period and the quality of the green coffee).

From the roasting machine, the roasted coffee (about 20/22% lower in weight than green coffee) is promptly air-cooled and sent to the storage silos by means of an aspirator - sorting machine, where it is left to mature for a period of about 7/10 days.

The matured product is subsequently blended (ranging from 100% Robusta to 100% Arabica) and transferred by conveyor belt to the packaging machine. The ground coffee is instead transported on industrial coffee grinders and then packaged.
