Coffee smoothie
A nice balanced breakfast and a coffee in one? The coffee smoothie is perfect for a great start to the day.
Ingredients (for 1 glass):
- 100 ml milk or milk substitute
- 1 espresso
- 5-6 tbsp oatmeal
- 1 (frozen) banana
- 1 tbsp cocoa
- Optional: 2 dates (for lovers), ice cubes, chopped dark chocolate (for garnish)
Preparation:
1. Put the milk, coffee, oatmeal, banana, and cocoa in a blender. Add the dates and ice cubes, if desired.
2. Blend into a frothy smoothie. By the way, this also works with a powerful hand blender.
3. Pour the coffee smoothie into a nice glass and sprinkle with the chopped chocolate, if desired.
Espresso martini
Originated when a woman asked a bartender “something that wakes me up and then goes to my head, please”. The bartender made an espresso and added vodka and some sweetness. The espresso martini was born!
Ingredients (for 1 cocktail):
- coffee liqueur (30 ml)
- vodka (30 ml)
- 1 warm espresso (30 ml)
- ice cubes
- Optional: sugar syrup (5 ml), coffee beans (for garnish)
Preparation:
1. Pour the hot espresso into a measuring cup about three-quarters full of ice cubes.
2. Add the coffee liqueur, vodka, and sugar syrup, if desired.
3. Time to shake it up! Try to shake it horizontally by doing so above your shoulder. Continue until a thin layer of ice appears on your shaker.
4. Pour the cocktail, without the ice, into a nice glass. Top it off with a few loose coffee beans, if desired.
Iced coffee
It sounds like quite a challenge to make your own iced coffee at home, but it’s actually super easy and it will make your (homework) days a little sunnier!
Ingredients (for 1 glass):
- 2 cooled espressos (or 1 cup of coffee)
- 5-6 ice cubes
- Some cold water
- Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- 1 espresso glass of (sweetened) condensed milk
- A chilled glass
Preparation:
1. Pour the coffee, cold water and ice cubes into the blender. Add the vanilla sugar and condensed milk, if desired.
2. Blend until creamy.
3. Finally, pour the iced coffee into a chilled glass.
