Coffee is one of the most popular drinks globally: there are many distinct types of coffee, and this drink has more flavours than the other beverages. We consume coffee daily because this contains caffeine, a stimulant that can raise our awareness, prevent falling asleep, or just refresh us in the morning. As already mentioned, coffee has various flavours, and it can be prepared in many different ways that you can’t imagine.
Kopi Luwak – the most high-priced coffee in the world
Kopi Luwak is an Indonesian coffee that has been digested by an animal called the Asian palm civet. The civet cat is a cat-like creature that roams the forests of Bali at night, eating ripe coffee cherries and excreting coffee beans. Then the beans are collected, washed and roasted. Result? Kopi Luwak, also known as Civet Coffee. This coffee had existed since the 1700s when the Dutch first established coffee plantations in Sumatra and Java. According to legend, locals were forbidden to harvest coffee beans for themselves, and they noticed that wild animals were eating ripe coffee cherries and leaving behind coffee beans. Outside the area of origin, prices have risen substantially. The cost of wild Kopi Luwak ranges from US$35 to US$100 per cup. The taste of Civet Coffee is defined as sol-like with hints of caramel and chocolate. Due to coffee’s quality and rarity, many people venture to drink it. According to several studies, if you want to try this coffee, you must know that Kopi Luak is safe.
Monkey Coffee
We do not deviate from the animal world. Monkey Coffee is a rare coffee bean from India and Taiwan. Rhesus monkeys and Taiwan rock macaques that help “process” beans do not ingest them: they masticate and spit them on the ground for people to pick up. This kind of coffee is more acceptable to think about than the Kopi Luwak. Like other speciality coffees, it is expensive and difficult to find. Just a few people get to taste it; Monkey Coffee should produce a flavoursome cup of coffee with a sugary and complex taste. Monkey coffee is not cheap. Since its production relies on monkeys (and all the common environmental factors related to agriculture), the usability has changed dramatically. It is not uncommon for a year’s supply to be well below 100 pounds for coffee producers, and monkey coffee is rarely produced exclusively. Its retail price is hundreds of dollars per pound, and the price of a cup of brewed coffee is about $10.
Egg Coffee
This coffee is the most extravagant Vietnamese cup of joy. If you experience Egg Coffee, you will see that this is more a dessert than a beverage. Egg coffee was a necessary invention: during the First Indochina War, it was challenging to buy milk in Vietnam. Therefore, in 1946, a bartender at the Sofitel Legend Metropolitan Hotel in Hanoi developed a coffee beverage using a whisk as a substitute for dairy products. Over time, the recipe evolves to make the taste of the eggs more subtle, and once the cafe starts to use the blender, the mixing process becomes more accessible. Certainly, Egg Coffee is not as rare and expensive as the two types of coffee mentioned above, but this coffee it’s also a delicacy.
Spicy Taco-Flavored Coffee Beans
CoffeeAM is a gourmet company that produces coffee for quite some time. Spicy Taco-Flavoured Coffee was the last thing we thought of, but it’s an invention that breaks the rules, and buyers are saying it’s good. This coffee is a unique and surprisingly pleasant blend of taco spice and rich meat flavour. It may not be one of your traditional flavoured coffees, but it is worth trying once in your life.
Nitrogen Coffee
The fundamental difference between Nitro Brew Coffee and a regular cup of coffee is that it is filled with nitrogen, giving it a creamy head on top. This sounds like a laboratory product, which makes the coffee smoother and richer in foam when drinking. Cold brewing with nitrogen is an entirely different procedure: after grinding and processing, the coffee is stored in a small barrel and injected with nitrogen. The result is a dark espresso whipped cream when it is served from the tap, even without adding any milk. You can try one cup of Nitrogen coffee in Starbucks or even at home.
Last words
If you are a real coffee lover, you should try one of these coffee specialities. As I said before, many distinct types of coffee contain several valuable nutrients. It’s been proven that coffee is actually good for you and your health.
