Good to know

A cold glass of coffee on a hot summer day is wonderfully refreshing, but there is a difference between cold coffee and iced coffee. Below we would like to explain the differences to you.

What is cold coffee?

There are two ways to make cold coffee: with the cold brew or the cold drip method. The cold drip method is a bit more laborious, because you need a special device, a cold drip coffee tower, in which cold water seeps very slowly through an even bed of freshly ground coffee into a pitcher. You need to be patient and plan well in advance, as this process can take up to 12 hours.

Cold brew coffee, on the other hand, is much easier to prepare. You simply let freshly ground coffee infuse in cold water, after which you filter the coffee. This is also a time-consuming process, from four hours to a few days, but then you have delicious coffee that is well worth the wait!

Then of course you also have iced coffee. It is made from cooled coffee, which in most cases is nothing more than coffee prepared with hot water such as espresso, which is then cooled in the refrigerator. The classic iced coffee is simply chilled coffee with ice-cold milk.

When we talk about iced coffee, we are of course also talking about the immensely popular frappé, coffee with milk, to which crushed ice, ice cream or flavored syrup has been added.

Now that you know all about cold coffee and iced coffee, try one of the delicious recipes below.

To start, put the raspberry syrup, light brown sugar and finely chopped nuts in the glass. Then foam cooled coffee in the MixCarafe with the aeromixer until the coffee has a good foam layer. Pour the frothed coffee into the glass. Rinse the MixCarafe clean, fill it with cold milk and make cold frothed milk with a thick foam layer.Pour the frothed milk into the glass with the coffee and finally garnish with white chocolate flakes and raspberries.
