Coffee Recipes

Café de olla is a typical Mexican breakfast staple that pairs well with your favourite pan dulce or sweet bread. Every morning, take a drink of Mexico while leaving your house smelling fantastic!

for 6 cups

6 cups water(1.4 L)
½ cup coffee grounds(60 g)
120 g piloncillo(120 g)
2 whole cinnamon sticks
2 whole star anise pods
5 whole cloves


Bring the water to a simmer in a medium pot over medium-low heat. Stir in the coffee grounds and piloncillo for 2 minutes, or until the piloncillo dissolves. Stir in the cinnamon sticks, star anise pods, and cloves for 1 minute. Allow the coffee to simmer for 10 minutes, covered.

Serve the coffee immediately after straining it.
