Description
The village of Vilcabamba lies in a lonely high valley in the valley of the centenarians in southern Ecuador. The name means “The Sacred Valley” in Quechua, the language of the Incas. This place seems to have had a special influence on the people there – nowhere else do so many people over 100 live in one place.
Generations of scientists and medical professionals have An explanation for this has already been sought. It seems to be a combination of the constant mild and not very humid climate, the diet of the people, the clean air, the absence of many stress factors and genetic predisposition.
